Oconto Falls – In honor of National Volunteer Week, April 15 – 21, HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital recognizes the hard work, dedication and compassion of its volunteers.
In 2017, 39 volunteers put in a total of 4,705 volunteer hours for HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital. They also coordinated eight fundraising projects and events to raise money to enhance services offered at the hospital. This included $10,000 for the purchase of new visitor chairs to be placed in patient rooms.
“We are incredibly blessed to have dedicated volunteers that partner with us to bring health, healing and hope to our patients at HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital,” said Mary Ann Brunette, volunteer services manager for HSHS-Eastern Wisconsin Division. “Volunteers bring joy to our patients and to all of us daily!”

Paul and Corie Bratter are newlyweds in every sense of the word. He’s a straight-as-an-arrow lawyer and she’s a free spirit always looking for the latest kick. Their new apartment is her most recent find – too expensive with bad plumbing and in need of a paint job. After a six-day honeymoon, they get a surprise visit from Corie’s loopy mother and decide to play matchmaker during a dinner with their neighbor-in-the-attic, Velasco, where everything that can go wrong, does.
