Here are the highlights of today’s Highway 22 construction informational meeting:
The intersection of Highland Drive and Highway 22 (by United True Value) is blocked off until May 20. Motorists are asked to take the detour route or an alternate route, not cut through the True Value parking lot.
Extra barricades have been put up around the city, and a message board has been moved to give motoristsvisual reminders of the road closure. Watch for them!
Over the next two weeks, pavement will be ripped up on Chestnut Road, from the Highland Drive intersection to the hardball field at Memorial Field. Barricades have been placed at the Highway 22 cross streets, to keep motorists out of the construction zone.
If you have business on the part of Highway 22 under construction, pick the nearest cross street that’s open, and take that to your destination.
Next informational meeting: 10 a.m. Friday, May 15, at City Hall. Everyone is welcome.
