Hospitalist Program at HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital

Prevea Health is pleased to announce the launch of a dedicated hospitalist program at HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital. It includes seven new physicians – hospitalists – available to better serve all hospitalized patients.

What is a hospitalist?
A hospitalist is a provider whose sole responsibility is to take care of patients in the hospital. They do not work in a clinic setting or have outpatient office hours like most primary care providers. Hospitalists coordinate patients’ admission into the hospital, manage their care and treatment and contact any subspecialist providers (cardiologists, gastroenterologists, etc.) patients may need during their hospital stay. As hospitalists care for patients in the hospital, they are also working with the patients’ primary care provider to discuss their conditions and what should be done once patients are discharged from the hospital.

What does this mean for patients?
Being cared for by a hospitalist during your stay at HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital means you are being cared for by providers who are specially trained in working in a hospital setting. Patients can be assured they are receiving the best care possible, in conjunction with the high-quality care they already receive from their primary care doctor with Prevea Health.

The new, Prevea Health hospitalists at HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital include:
Dr. Tanya Lechtev
Dr. Shefiu Lanre Shittu
Dr. Frederick Abrokwah
Dr. Emmanuel Odeyemi
Dr. Olusolape Adegbehingbe
Dr. Moshood Lawal
Dr. Okechukwu Kanu
