ALL TRAILS IN OCONTO COUNTY ARE OPEN!

Townsend – Well our 8″- 12″ of snow turned out to be 3″- 5″. That’s the bad news. The good news is the 3″- 5″ is heavy wet snow and groomed out very well. The trails in the area are in good condition and should stay that way if the snow freezes down like it laid after grooming. Some areas are like a highway.

Lakewood – The big storm we were hearing about for over a week brought the area around 5 inches with some areas a little less. The groomers are out and some areas were done way before the plows were out so watch the road crossings till we can redo those areas. We will be grooming regularly throughout the weekend. The trails should hold up well with the cooler temps. Ride Safe !!!!!

Chute Pond – Chute Pond trails are open, and grooming the 6″ of fresh snow from yesterday’s Winter Storm Bucky. Trails are in good riding condition. Grooming operations will be ongoing, so please remember to watch out for the groomers. If you come across one on the trail, stop and wait for the driver to signal that it’s safe to pass by.

Also, be aware that last week the groomer broke through on the trail north of Hwy W near the old Pine Grove- use extra caution in this area, which may not be completely smoothed out yet.

Bagley, Brazeau, Gillett, Oconto Falls, Chase and Lena are all open!

Shrek The Musical – Abrams Theater – NOW AUDITIONING

ShrekAbrams Spotlight Productions, Inc. will holding open auditions for their next musical, Shrek The Musical (Music by Jeanine Tesori, Book & Lyrics By David Lindsay-Abaire, Based on the DreamWorks Animation Motion Picture and the book by William Steig) on January 13 & 14, 2016 – 6:00pm-8:00pm at The Byng Community Theater, 5852 Maple Street, Abrams.

Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, Shrek The Musical is a Tony Award-winning fairy tale adventure featuring all new songs from Jeanine Tesori (Thoroughly Modern Millie, Caroline or Change) and a sidesplitting book by David Lindsay-Abaire. Shrek brings all the beloved characters you know from the film to life on stage, and proves there’s more to the story than meets the ears. “Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek…” And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude, and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one on hand…and his name is Shrek.

Actors age 8 and older are welcome to audition. Prepare an upbeat song from a musical to sing (not a song from Shrek The Musical). You will learn and perform a dance routine in small groups at the audition. You must audition in order to be in the show, no late entries will be allowed. Rehearsals will generally be on Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday nights beginning in January. Show dates are scheduled for April 15-17 & 22-24, 2016. Please consider your availability for all rehearsals and show dates, and your level of commitment before auditioning. We are always looking for Backstage and Front of House Crew Members as well. For more information call Brandon Byng at (920) 826-5852.
