Sportsmen and women are invited to an event dedicated to raising money for walleye habitat improvement, fishing education and youth fishing.
The Green Bay Walleyes for Tomorrow annual fundraising banquet is Friday, March 10, 2017, at the Stadium View, 1963 Holmgren Way, Green Bay. The fun begins at 5 p.m. when the doors open and the raffles and silent auction begins, followed by dinner at 6 p.m. The Friday night fish fry buffet will feature baked and deep-fried cod, chicken and all the fixings.
Door prizes will be awarded, and guests have an opportunity to win raffle prizes including guns, fishing rods and wildlife prints, while supporting a campaign to improve walleye fishing in the area.
Dinner tickets are $20 per person. Corporate tables are $240 which includes 8 tickets, a free wildlife print and entry into a gun raffle open only to corporate tables.
All of the money raised at the banquet will be spent in the local area. The proceeds from last year’s event were used to help purchase a generator for a Department of Natural Resources shocking boat in Oconto County and to provide a fishing clinic for 4-H youth. At the clinic, 25 rod and reel combos were distributed to participants. WFT continues to raise money for a walleye habitat project on the Oconto River.
