Current Volunteer Opportunities

St. Clare Memorial Hospital:

Volunteering for HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital is a wonderful way to provide a helping hand to those in need.

  • Student volunteers: Students must be at least 15 years old and commit to performing a minimum of 50 hours of annual service to qualify to volunteer at the hospital
  • Summer volunteering: College and high school students: Applications must be received by May 1.
  • Greeters/transporters: Greet and escort patients and visitors to appropriate areas within the hospital.
  • Escort: Provide assistance escorting patients and visitors in admitting, discharge and inter-department transport.
  • Clerical/Data Entry: Miscellaneous clerical duties such as typing, filing, copying, answering phones, assisting with bulk mailings and special projects as needed.
  • Pastoral Care: Parish callers are needed to notify area churches of their members who have been admitted. Eucharistic Minister to provide the sick with the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist.
  • Surgical Waiting Room: Volunteers provide hospitality for family members while their loved one is in surgery.

Home Respite Care:

Currently Home Respite has volunteers that provide respite and phone pal services, assist with fundraising, are on the board of directors, work in the office or help at the Caring Tree Adult Day Center.   Without these caring people, our programs would not work.  Our services are offered free or at a reduced rate so than everyone can get the help they need.  This is not possible without volunteers!

New View Industries

New View Industries is hiring for summer limited term Direct Support Staff positions to work in our Day Services, pre-vocational, and daily living skills programs.  These programs support both children and adults with disabilities and mental health needs.

These are contracted positions through Community Resources Staffing Specialist Agency (CRSSA).  Work hours are 34 hours per week, Monday through Thursday from 7:30am – 4:00pm in Gillett, WI.  No Fridays or weekends.  Starting pay is $11.00/hr. – $13.00/hr. based on experience / education.  Approximate dates are from June 7th through Aug. 19th.

This is a great summer job for any students, 18 years of age or older, looking to gain experience in human services or for anyone looking to improve the lives of our disabled community members.

  • Oconto Electric Cooperative, is looking to hire a Seasonal Utility Worker, to assist with a variety of utility day-to-day tasks during the construction season. A graduate of the Electric Power Distribution Course a plus. Knowledge and/or working experience in a utility or construction atmosphere required.  Must possess a valid Class A-Commercial Driver’s License.

  • Oconto Electric Cooperative (OEC) a Rural Electric Distribution Cooperative has an immediate opening for a full-time qualified individual who will be responsible for processing collections and accounts payables, including data entry duties.
