Notes

With land donated by the city of Oconto Falls, groundbreaking took place on Friday, April 23, 1980 to start building the “senior center”. A dedicated group of citizens held fundraisers, bazaars, and canvassed the city holding a fund drive to raise monies to build the center. After much hard work, the center was completed and its dedication ceremony was held on Sunday, August 23, 1981.
Over the years the senior center has been used and is still used by many organizations and groups such as: Beltone Hearing and Foot Care Specialists, tax aid, and Energy Assistance Clinics, the American Legion, the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, the Disabled American Veterans, NWTC, the Democratic Party, Card Club, individuals from around Oconto County and many more.
Today the senior center still hosts the meal site for the Oconto Falls area, has recreational activities for the county’s citizens and is also home to to the Oconto County Commission on Aging kitchen, Home Respite Care’s “The Caring Tree Adult Day Center”, and New Path Charter School. The center is still open to hosting meetings for groups and organizations and can be rented for private individuals to hold parties and gatherings.
The rates for renting the Senior Center are as follows:
Half Day (4 Hours) – $50.00
Full Day – $80.00
This includes set up and clean up time.
A $50.00 security deposit is required and will be returned if the building is left in good condition.
